The Sanjay Mishra-led film Giddh wins the Asia International Competition

Sanjay Mishra, a versatile actor, has won another accomplishment with the release of his short Hindi film, Giddh: The Scavenger. At the prestigious Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2023, the film won first place in the Asia International Competition. In addition, the festival’s Best Actor prize was given to the lead character. Giddh: the Scavenger is now officially eligible to participate in the Academy Awards.
Giddh holds up a mirror to society and discusses some brutal truths that no one wants to talk about. The story revolves around an elderly person who is compelled to pick a strange way to get money, even though his family is adequately nourished. Later, he struggles with the guilt.
This is not the first time that a global audience has praised Giddh: The Scavenger. The USA Film Festival 2023 jury had already chosen the film as a finalist. It was further chosen for a number of other prestigious international short film festivals, including the LA Shorts International Film Festival and the Carmarthen Bay International Film Festival, both of which will take place in 2023.
Giddh: The Scavenger had a tremendous reception, according to Sanjay Mishra. “I am deeply humbled and grateful for the overwhelming global reception that our film Giddh has received,” he was quoted as saying. The experience of working with such a fantastic group made the adventure truly remarkable, and I will never forget it.”We faced obstacles head-on, putting our hearts into every scene, and witnessing the magic that unfolded before our very eyes,” the Vadh actor continued.
“I am deeply affected by the response and acclaim that our labour of love has received as I reflect on the numerous hours of labour and unshakeable commitment put into this project,” he added.
Giddh: The Scavenger was produced by national award-winning filmmaker Manish Saini. Sanjay Mishra, Vaibhav Biniwale, Raj Vitthalpura, and Mayur Sonej play significant parts in the cast.
