Pankaj Tripathi acknowledged his happiness at winning the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Mimi in an official statement and also dedicated the award to his father. “This is unfortunately a period of loss and grieving for me. If Babuji was around, he would have been really happy for me. When I first got the National Award mention, he was very proud and pleased. This National Award I dedicate to him and his spirit. I’m who I am today because of him. I’m at a loss of words due to this time but I’m happy and grateful to the team.
In spite of finding it difficult to properly express himself at this time of loss, Tripathi conveyed his thanks and joy to the ‘Mimi’ crew. He applauded the teamwork and commitment required to make the movie a success.
In addition, Tripathi sent heartfelt congrats to Kriti Sanon, his co-star in ‘Mimi’, who has also won the National Award for Best Actress for her performance. “Since Kriti also won Best Actress, a heartfelt congratulations goes out to her,” the actor said.
