Ali Fazal had to study dirt biking as one of many preparations for his role in his most recent Hollywood film, Kandahar. Ali, who plays Kahil in the movie, spent time throughout the filming mastering the new skill set needed for his character because it is still a rare sport in India. In this military thriller, Ali plays the lead role in one of the most action-packed films he has ever seen. The actor spent a lot of time filming in Saudi Arabia’s Al Ula region.
So basically, it is apparent that Ali’s passion for dirt biking has grown. Surprisingly dissipating me from everyday bicycling on the congested streets of our cities. But you know you’ll never be as excellent as you want to be when you’re working with such an incredible stunt crew in a movie like Kandahar, where everything is meticulously planned and cutting-edge. This is why, even though the bike was extremely basic, the stunt team purposely selected a very inexpensive bike, like a KTM.

We decided on a KTM rather than one of those stylish Ducati or the popular sports bikes, the Hayabusa because it is more affordable. However, we had to perform these tricks, so that’s why. These tricks had to be performed in the desert. And a lot of this stuff was impossible for us to fabricate. So I gained knowledge on dirt biking. I arrived 25 days before the shoot and immediately began mastering these tricks. Naturally, one must first learn how to ride simply on the sand before doing other types of skids, breaks, and turns. In the end, you must make the character come to life, no matter what tricks you use. Body language is one thing among many. Therefore, my stunt double and I had to constantly collaborate because there were several shots that I had never done, including riding on top of a very steep cliff with only rocks.
Top international actors including Gerard Butler, Travis Fimmel, and Navid Negahban star in the North American version of Kandahar, which is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. One of the film’s key antagonists, Kahil, is portrayed by Ali.
