Omg 2, starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam just released in theatres. This sequel to OMG, which released in 2012, faced a lot of issues with the Censor Board.
Even before the release, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi urged the audience to watch the movie before giving any judgements on it, especially to the character of Akshay Kumar in the movie, i.e. of Lord Shiva himself, also, that there isn’t anything offensive in the movie as it is made with sensitivity. But the censor board seems to be unconvinced with the OMG 2 team.
So, the film received an ‘A’ certificate from CBFC which disappointed the makers. During group media interaction, Pankaj Tripathi stated, “ Iss film ko ‘A’ milna, surprise tha humare liye. Thoda malaal hua ki jis age-group ko yeh film dekhni chaiye, 12-17 saal ke, woh nahi dekh payenge (For me it was a surprise. I was a bit disappointed, as the target age group of 12-17 years old won’t be able to see the film).”
Which means that the teen actor, who’s playing the role of Pankaj Tripathi’s son cannot watch the film in theatres, as he’s still underage. He further went on saying that there should be a category between U/A and A.
