Govind Namdev on OMG 2 getting an A Certificate from CBFC- “Jo dimaag CBFC ko Adipurush jaisi behuda film ko censor karne mein lagana chahiye tha…”

Ever since CBFC gave OMG 2 an A certificate, even after censoring 24 scenes from the movie, both the audience and the OMG team have been in great disappointment. The cast of the movie including Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Censor Board’s decision.

Govind Namdev, playing the role of a Pujari in the movie, came down heavily to this issue, stating, ““Jo dimaag Censor Board ko Adipurush jaisi behuda film ko censor karne mein lagana chahiye tha who unhone OMG 2 jaisi thoughtful-progressive film ko kaatne-kootne mein kharch kar diya (The kind of mindfulness the Censor Board should have applied to censor a ‘disgusting’ film like Adipurush, they applied it to cut and ruin a thoughtful-progressive film like OMG 2). It will be a wise step if Censor rectify its mistake n give at least UA certificate to let a positive revolution set in for the betterment of our society’s teenagers upbringing. Thunderous applause by the audiences in theatres today speaks volumes about the film.”

OMG 2 is a movie which revolves around the importance of sex education and that it should be taught in schools to all the growing teenagers so as to avoid wrong information to circulate in young minds. But now, his movie is unable to reach the right audience, that is, to the 12-17 year old age group. Even though the adults who are watching the film are giving a positive response, the team of the movie is still hoping that censor boards takes the A certificate back.

Directed and written by Amir Rai, OMG 2 was released on 11 August and stars Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Kumar, Arun Govil and Yami Gautam.
