On August 4, 2023, the record-breaking movie ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ will be released again in the cinemas. Just like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Jab We Met (2007) made a comeback into the cinemas this year and were watched by their fans in large numbers, the makers of Koi Mil Gaya have also decided to do the same, marking its 20th anniversary, meanwhile announcing its sequel, Krishh 4 in 2024.
Originally released on August 8, 2003 in a total of 450 cinemas, starring Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Rekha, the movie will be re-released by PVR Inox in 30 cities across the country. The numbers might change depending on the number of viewers it would have today.
The movie ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ is about a person with developmental disabilities, Rohan (Hritik Roshan) who lives with his mother (Rekha) and falls in love with Nisha (Preity Zinta). Then the movie takes a turn when he starts hiding an alien named Jadoo from the world until the aliens from his world come to the Earth to take him back. Whilst leaving Rohan, Jadoo gives him supernatural powers. The rest of the story is shown in the movie’s sequels ‘Krishh’ and ‘Krishh 3’.
When the director of the movies, Rakesh Roshan (Hritik Roshan’s father) was asked upon the release of Krishh 4, he revealed that the scripting of the movie is complete and the big budget movie will hit the theatres in 2024.
