The much anticipated Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2023 started in a spectacular way with the premiere of the highly anticipated movie Ghoomer, which has been directed by R Balki. An extraordinary cinematic journey that will be followed by screenings of over 100 films at the festival in 22 languages was set in motion by the film’s lead cast, which included the legendary Shabana Azmi, the charismatic Abhishek Bachchan, the gifted Saiyami Kher, and the versatile Angad Bedi.

A befittingly inspirational tale of human triumphant over tumultous circumstances, ‘Ghoomer’ is expected to be a cinematic experience that seamlessly blends passion, drama, and pure enjoyment. The audience was spellbound by the enchantment that unfolded on screen when the curtains raised for the first time, and the picture earned tremendous applause and a standing ovation.
“I’m glad for this platform for the world premiere of our picture,” Abhishek said during the opening night. “Ghoomer was created with passion. Balki has long desired to achieve this. Making a movie about the game is, in my opinion, the best way to give back to something you love so much.”
The star-studded event was attended by a large number of ardent fans and members of the film industry, including Kartik Aaryan, Vijay Varma, Mrunal Thakur, Anurag Kashyap, Rajshri Deshpande, Aparshakti Khurana, and Vikramaditya Motwane.
