The book “Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison” by Jigna Vora served as the inspiration for the TV series ‘Scoop’which debuted on Netflix on June 2.

‘Scoop’ is just as fantastic as Hansal Mehta’s smash blockbuster TV series ‘Scam1992’.
While upholding the authenticity of the narrative and living up to his audiences’ expectations, he left no stone unturned. Hansal could do so with a brilliant ensemble of actors playing key characters, including Mohammed Zeeshan, Harman Baweja, and Karishma Tanna, whose undiscovered ability is one of the highlights of this gripping series.

Karishma, who is portraying the part of Jagruti Pathak, has done an outstanding job as the ambitious crime reporter who was obsessed with bringing exclusive news by using every means required and later became exclusive news herself when she was accused of orchestrating the murder of the fellow crime reporter Jaideb Sen (Prosenjit Chatterjee) by the gangster Chhota Rajan’s men.

This film explores the relationship between the underworld, the government, and the media, and shockingly reveals how a government dances to the tune of the underworld.
This web series by Mehta deftly illustrates the difficulties faced by truth-seeking journalists as well as how the media and newspapers have the capability to deceive people with their unreliable narratives.
It is a must-watch for people who are fond of thrillers and have a curiosity for finding out facts and truth hidden behind the very obvious.
