Although it has been a long time since the divorce of Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap, it was just recently that Kalki opened up without hesitation about her relationship with her ex-husband Anurag in an interview with Puja Talwar. The ‘Ye Jawani Hai Deewani’ actor stated that both took their time after the divorce to settle down and now, after almost seven-eight years, they’re fine around each other and share a bond of friendship.
She stated, “It takes time. There is no denying that in the first few years after our divorce, we couldn’t be the kind of friends that we are today. We needed that separate time because it hurts to know about the other person’s relationship and things like that. So, of course, we took that time, I definitely took a lot of therapy and now it’s been seven-eight years… It’s been a long, long time so it’s fine, it’s great and we get along, as friends.”
Anurag and Kalki got married in 2011 and parted ways in 2015. Both of them have worked and collaborated in numerous projects, like Kalki’s debut in 2009 with the romantic dark comedy Dev D, alongside Abhay Deol, then in the 2010 thriller- That Girl In Yellow Boots. In 2019, she worked in Anurag’s Netflix India crime thriller- Sacred Games Season 2, and even in the recently released ‘Goldfish’, she worked with Anurag. The movie ‘Goldfish’ is directed by Pushan Kripalani, produced by Amit Saxena and was released in theatres on 1 September 2023.
