Popular Malayalam actress Aparna P Nair was found dead in her bedroom at her home in Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, on Thursday evening. She was popular for her work on TV dramas like Atmasakhi, Chandanamazha, Devasparsham, Maithili Veendum Varun, and others. Nair was brought to a private hospital in Killipalam at about 11 p.m., where she was pronounced dead, according to PTI.
The 33-year-old actress resided at her husband Sanjith’s home in Puliyarathoppe, which is close to Thaliyal in Karamana. Her younger son and husband were at home when the tragedy occurred.
Their family informed that she killed herself by hanging herself with a sari, according to her sister Aishwarya. “However, when I reached the house, she was lying on the bed with the portion of the sari strangled to her neck. Soon she was rushed to the private hospital, where she was declared dead,” said Aishwarya.
Under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Karamana police have filed a complaint for an unnatural death. The reason for death is being investigated by the police. The post-mortem will provide further information.
