The very talented, respected and graceful actor Rekha recently graced the Vogue magazine cover with her elegant and classic avatar. Her outfits were designed by the one and only Manish Malhotra, the first one being a royal looking black turtleneck blouse, layered with an embroidered and furnished golden brocade jacket. Adding on to the look is headgear that further elevates the elegant look. Her makeup is on point with kohl eyes, a bold lip and an enthralling neck piece.
In the second look from the same photoshoot, she can be seen wearing an anarkali with a golden border dupatta, and of course, enthralling accessories.
Both Manish Malhotra and Rekha share the passion for Indian clothing and embroidery and that is evident in Rekha’s breath-taking looks. Even Bollywood stars like Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Padnekar couldn’t stop calling her look iconic.
Rekha even talks about her late mother stating that all the glam and elegance she carries is inherited from her. She belongs to a film background. Her father was an icon in Tamil films and her mother was associated with Telugu cinema. Her parents, especially her mother always encouraged her to follow whatever she loved.
She revealed that it was indeed her mother who taught her to carry herself in a graceful manner and it was because of her that whenever she steps into any fashionable outfit, she never fails to charm everyone with her beauty.
She stated, “My mother was my mentor, a woman of such finesse she felt like a goddess, a devi. She taught me the grace of living with gentility and love. She always said I should never lose the ankh ki chamak, or ‘twinkle in the eyes,’ because it is that joyful perception that makes one appreciate the beauty of a tiny seed that grows into a majestic tree. She also advised me wisely to practice what I love, not what I preach. She set the benchmark for me because my mother walked the talk.”
