As the release date of OMG 2 is coming closer, people are reacting more and more to the role being played by Akshay Kumar in the movie, that is, of the deity Shiva himself. Even the Censor Board demanded a change in Akshay Kumar’s character from that of a God to rather a messenger of Lord Shiva.
Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi reacted to the controversies and urged the audience to watch the movie first as it covers important and sensitive topics too, especially related to children’s education. There is a lot of entertainment and comedy in the film as well and it’s not just limited to depicting Akshay as Lord Shiva. Pankaj Tripathi stated that it is made with all precautions and sensitivity as they are all responsible people. He went on stating that Amit Rai took a lot of time to write this story and when Pankaj Tripathi himself got influenced by the story of the film, he believed Akshay Kumar can raise these types of topics.
OMG 2, directed by Amit Rai, produced by Vipul D. Shah, Rajesh Behl, Ashwin Varde, Aruna Bhatia, starring Akshay Kumar, Arun Govil, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi is set to release on 11 August, 2023.
