XG, a hip hop/R&B-inspired girl group, announced the release of their long-awaited 1st Mini Album today. The name of the first track from this mini album is “GRL GVNG”, released on June 30.
This year in January, XG released both “SHOOTING STAR” and “LEFT RIGHT”, which went viral worldwide. From hitting the Spotify Viral Top 100 chart in 46 countries and regions, including the US, the UK, Japan, Korea to the global chart, the tracks made a huge impact globally, charting in 25 countries and regions, which include – #1 in the UK, Canada, and Japan, and #3 in the U.S. on YouTube’s Fastest Rising Chart. “LEFT RIGHT” also became the first track by a female Japanese group to chart on the Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart in the US, and even at 13 consecutive weeks, it is the longest-running charting track for an Asian girl group.
XG, in May of this year, performed for the first time in Japan at KCON JAPAN 2023, which is one of the world’s largest K-culture festivals. They even performed for the first time at the Head In The Clouds New York Music & Arts Festival, which is again a large-scale music festival organized by 88rising, to the great excitement of their fans in New York.
“GRL GVNG”, is set to be released on June 30, heralds XG’s 1st Mini Album. The track conveys XG’s unity, which only grows stronger through the challenges they face:

Talking about the visual concept of the track, it is also showcased in images released along with the announcement. XG’s unique creativity and self expression evokes a strong sense of unity.

XG, a seven member HipHop/R&B-inspired girls group, consists of JURIN, CHISA, HARVEY, HINATA, JURIA, MAYA and COCONA.
The group debuted in March 2022 with their 1st single “Tippy Toes’ ‘ from a global entertainment production company – X GALX that introduces BOLD culture to the world and produces artists with a unique worldview.
“MASCARA”, their 2nd single, was released in June of the same year. Then they released their 3rd Single “SHOOTING STAR” on January 25, 2023.
The group’s name “XG” stands for “Xtraordinary Girls.
Through their unconventional and unique style of music and performance, they will empower people from all walks of life around the world.
