With superstar Allu Arjun carrying the entertainer on his shoulders, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa- The Rise went on to become one of the most successful films of all time. Despite being released against big-budget films like Spiderman and 83, the film went on to gross over 300 crores globally, while the Hindi version of Pushpa-The Rise grossed over 80 crores, demonstrating the actor’s star power.
During a difficult time like the pandemic, all theatre chains incurred losses and were experiencing a pause; nevertheless, Allu’s Pushpa-The Rise provided reprieve to some of them. The G7 Multiplex, a popular movie theatre in Mumbai’s suburbs, was one of these chains.
The film received such a positive reception in the popular multiplex that G7 owner Manoj Desai congratulated Allu Arjun, who was overjoyed with Pushpa’s box office take.
“If there was someone I worshipped after Amitabh Bachchan in Khuda Gawah and Nagarjuna and his kid from the south, it’s you,” Manoj Desai remarked in a special tribute to Allu Arjun. How are you doing, Allu Arjun? I salute you, and I’m thrilled to be releasing your film Pushpa, and I’m even more thrilled to be releasing your second picture. “Sir sir sir,” says the narrator.
