After The Kashmir Files, Lahore and The Kerala Story, the Hindi film industry is back with another movie – 72 Hoorain. As you can guess by the trailer, the movie talks about the terrorism happening in the name of Islam. Most of you might guess that the film degrades Islam and portrays Hinduism as a better religion, but surprisingly, it doesn’t have any part related to Hinduism. It just revolves around terrorist ideology and how it is misinterpreted to be the actual Islamic ideology.
MOVIE’S PLOT:
The movie starts with 2 people, who state that they died for Islam, killing the ‘Kafirs’ (the people who are against Islam) around them. They both had tied bombs onto their bodies and cried ‘Allah hu Akbar’ and blasted themselves amidst a crowded area. Then the movie just shows them looking for the 72 beautiful virgin ladies, whom their Maulvi had stated. The Maulvi had told them that they’ll be granted these ladies if they died for their religion. The movie’s message isn’t very clear till the end. It is mostly shot in black and white. The story goes on very slowly and might even seem boring as there barely is any cast in it. The direction was rather decent, and the makers could have done much better if they just stuck to the story rather than adding long dialogues and unnecessary dramatic scenes. But the end is quite fair as they compare the actual Islamic ideology, which states that Suicide is considered to be Haram in Muslims, and it is actually the terrorist ideology which is brainwashing the Muslims and making them tie bombs on them.
