First of all, it is very difficult to accept Bachchhan Panday aka Akshay Kumar as King Prithviraj. Secondly, come on, this is not history but a visual representation of what the poet Chand Bardai wrote in form of a long poem. And thirdly, Manushi Chhillar too is such a disappointment! And unfortunately not because she lacks in any way, but because the entire costume and look of Sanyogita is soo modern!
The trailer disappoints deeply. A lot was expected from director Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is a well-respected scholar. And most importantly why should fiction be presented as history, I don’t understand. Is it an effort to distort our history as was done in Padmaavat too which is actually a long poem written by Jayasi which had little to do with history. But well, that was Bhansali, primarily a film director. But this director, who is supposedly well-read should at least have been careful in distinguishing fiction from history!
The trailer disappoints, and unfortunately the film too will, most probably with the kind of dialogues and language used- which hardly reflects that period of history.
I sincerely hope that the filmmakers will write in the beginning of the film that it is a work of fiction and has nothing to do with history!
