Mumbai, Maharashtra, (21st February 2023) – India’s most prestigious award ceremony, Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023 celebrated the splendour of cinema with resounding success on the 20th of February. The event at Taj Lands End felicitated the best creative minds in the Film and Television industry, paying homage to the craft of filmmaking pioneered in India by Dadasaheb Phalke. The grand gala was full of memorable moments and was attended by luminaries like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and R. Balki. DPIFF this year has been an achievement of star-studded brilliance.
Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023 was the glorious culmination of creative endeavours with Cinematic Tourism as the theme. With musical performances by Mohit Chauhan and Harmony of the Pines, the evening celebrated the grand history and legacy of entertainment in India. The most brilliant minds of the industry and their projects over the past year were felicitated on a grand scale.
It was a glamorous red carpet event as all of Bollywood stepped out to grace the prestigious ceremony. Seasoned actors Ronit Roy and Shreyas Talpade were the charming hosts of the evening who left the audience spellbound with their natural wit and humour. The evergreen Rekha was felicitated for her Outstanding Contribution to the Film Industry, with Hariharan being lauded for his Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry.
Ranbir Kapoor bagged the coveted Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in Brahmastra: Part One, while Alia Bhatt took home Best Actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi. RRR, the blockbuster that is making waves all around the world, was awarded Film of the Year, with The Kashmir Files taking home Best Film. Varun Dhawan and Vidya Balan respectively received the Critics Best Actor and Critics Best Actress awards. Dulquer Salmaan won Best Actor in a Negative Role while Mouni Roy bagged an award for Best Actress in a Negative Role. Neeti Mohan took home Best Playback Singer: Female. Sachet Tandon, who bagged Best Playback Singer: Male, took to the stage with composing partner and wife Parampara Tandon to accept the award, mesmerising the audiences with a few lines of their song Maiyya Mainu.
