Pathaan Review:-

As Shah Rukh Khan returns to the big screen after four long years, Pathaan is an event film in its own right. Pathaan is a very ambitious action thriller that plays to the gallery and does not fail to live up to its hype. The story of Pathaan seems like a filmy Mountain Dew commercial at first glance, but after a few moments finds its footing, a film that seems far-fetched in writing, but is high on star power and style.

An officer in Pakistan, who wants India to pay for the ‘mistake’ of revocation of article 370 (special status for Jammu and Kashmir), becomes involved in the plot of the film after the Indian government revocation of article 370. He reaches out to the formidable Jim, an ex-RAW agent wronged by his own people. He is joined by his ravishing accomplice Rubai (Deepika Padukone), an ex-ISI agent with ambiguous motives.

As Pathaan, Jim, and Rubai hop continents and engage in a dangerous game of betrayal and revenge, they lock eyes and horns, and they play a dangerous game. In the film, Siddharth Anand’s spy thriller is presented in a very over-the-top manner. It is presented as more of a superhero film that requires a significant amount of disbelief, as if the three are in a race to destroy and protect the worlds they believe in.

A lot of his fascination for mainstream Hollywood blockbusters like Marvel and Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible series to name just a few, as well as his fanboy worship, is evident here. Expect Falcon-like wingsuits and exaggerated action scenes.

In the majority of the film, action overrides emotions, which is quite a departure for SRK who has mostly portrayed romantic or conversational characters. Despite the fact that he is 57 years old, and has evocative eyes that are powerful and powerfully evocative, it is his presence that makes a subpar script and subpar visual effects work. He is the one who salvages an average script.

In spite of the fact that the background score is not quite in sync with the story, Vishal’s music is a highlight of the film

There is an iconic whistle moment as Bhai meets the badshah in the YRF spy universe as Karan and Arjun reunite to give you a taste of what is to come.

It is important to note that Pathaan has all the ingredients for a masala potboiler if you are willing to ignore the frivolity of dialogues such as “You are pretty screwed”. Slowmo entries, an iconic battle between good and evil, and of course, Shah Rukh Khan is the most sexy-smouldering actor in the world. There is no question that he is still the undisputed King of Bollywood.
