Pathaan box office collection Day 27: Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller has become the fifth Indian film to enter the Rs 1000 crore club worldwide.
Despite being in theatres for almost a month, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is still experiencing exceptional box office performance. The film has now surpassed the highly sought-after Rs 1000 crore mark globally, and it’s also gradually moving closer to becoming the highest-grossing Hindi-language film domestically. Pathaan’s success has not been affected by the recent releases of Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported, “Pathaan will breach ₹ 500 cr mark today [fourth Tue; Day 28]…⭐️ FIRST #Hindi film to achieve this target.
⭐️ Also, FASTEST to hit ₹ 500 cr [#Hindi, Nett BOC]. [Week 4] Fri 2.20 cr, Sat 3.25 cr, Sun 4.15 cr, Mon 1.20 cr. Total: ₹ 498.95 cr. #Hindi. #India biz.” He also said the film has earned Rs 516.92 cr across all languages. “Pathaan #Tamil + #Telugu [Week 4] Fri 5 lacs, Sat 7 lacs, Sun 10 lacs, Mon 5 lacs. Total: ₹ 17.97 cr. ⭐️ NOTE: #Pathaan #Hindi + #Tamil + #Telugu combined biz: ₹ 516.92 cr. #India biz. Nett BOC.”
While Pathaan’s box office performance has been remarkable, it still has a ways to go before surpassing the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion, which grossed Rs 510.99 crore. During its fourth weekend, the film garnered over Rs 10 crore in collections in the Hindi market. On Friday, it made Rs 2.20 crore, followed by Rs 3.25 crore on Saturday, and a robust Sunday of Rs 4.15 crore.
On Monday, Yash Raj Films released Pathaan’s worldwide collections till Sunday, with a tweet that read, “#Pathaan streak continues to soar 🔥,” indicating that the movie had earned Rs 996 crore worldwide. With Monday’s collections added in, the film has now surpassed the Rs 1000 crore milestone. According to Box Office Worldwide, Pathaan’s domestic gross collection is Rs 623 crore, its overseas gross collection is Rs 377 crore, and its worldwide gross collection is Rs 1000 crore.
Pathaan is the fifth Indian film to have crossed the Rs 1000 cr mark worldwide after Dangal (Rs 1968.03 cr), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1747 cr), KGF 2 (Rs 1188 cr) and RRR (Rs 1174 cr). It is to be noted that Pathaan has achieved the feat without being released in China.
Shah Rukh Khan was eagerly waiting for Pathaan to touch the Rs 1000 cr mark. On Monday, he conducted an Ask SRK session during which he told a Twitter user about his lucky number. When the user asked him if Shah Rukh has any lucky number, the actor replied, “Right now any number above 1000 ha ha ha #Pathaan.”
It is uncertain whether other Bollywood superstars can restore their lost glory following the huge success of Pathaan. Kartik Aaryan, who rescued Bollywood from being dismissed in 2022 with his movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, has now faced a significant failure with his recent film Shehzada. This Friday, Akshay Kumar, who appeared in four flops last year, is returning with his film Selfiee, and it remains to be seen if the movie can help him reclaim his previous successes.
