Local Delhi Court Granted Divorce To Famous Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan From His Estranged Wife Aesha Mukherji

Famous cricketer Shikhar Dhawan was granted a divorce from his estranged wife Aesha Mukherji on Wednesday by a local Delhi court due to the mental abuse he had endured.

Judge Harish Kumar accepted all the accusations made by Dhawan in his divorce petition because Aesha did not refute the claim or offer a defense. The judge ruled that by making the player live apart from his sole son, the wife had exposed him to mental anguish by relocating to Australia and keeping him away from his son for years, forcing him into a “long-distance marriage.”

Aesha Mukherjee and Dhawan married in 2012; their son, Zoraver Dhawan, is now 10 years old. Aesha and Zoraver are both Australian citizens. Aesha had two daughters with her first husband from a previous marriage.

The court did not decide their son’s long-term custody, but it did award Dhawan visitation rights so that he may talk to his son via video call as well as meet him for the proper time in Australia and India.

Aesha initially agreed to stay in India with Dhawan, but she was unable to do so due to a commitment to her ex-husband, with whom she shares two daughters. She had promised her ex-husband that she wouldn’t leave Australia, where she now resides with her two girls and a son from Dhawan.

The court also took into account Dhawan’s contention that his wife forced him to give her a 99 percent ownership interest in three Australian properties he owned.
