Review: ‘Chaleya’ from ‘Jawan’, 57 year-old SRK Romancing again Onscreen

The romance king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, who’s 57, is back with another lovey-dovey track ‘Chaleya’, which was dropped by T-Series today, that is, 14 August, 2023. The song, which features Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara is grabbing the audience’s attention because of the brand new chemistry we get to see between the two actors.

Talking about the song itself, it is, as usual, sung by Arijit Singh along with Shilpa Rao. The tune of the song is a bit cliché, yet catchy. The song is written by Kumaar, choreographed by Farah Khan, and the mix of Bollywood and salsa steps gives it a nice vibe. We could see the two actors grooving to the beats, dancing, getting romantic and intimate in the dream-like set up, where Shah Rukh Khan is dressed in his signature style and Nayanthara in a big floral gown and then in a pretty black dress. The dance sequel and chemistry between the two isn’t awkward, but it isn’t mind-blowing either. The audience too, feel the same, as we get to see mixed reactions from them. Finally the song ends where the couple’s holding hands by Mumbai’s Bandra–Worli sea link, while walking towards a fair.

The song is titled ‘Chaleya’ in Hindi, ‘Hayyoda’ in Tamil and ‘Chalona’ in Telugu. Talking about ‘Jawan’, the movie also includes , Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (in a special appearance), Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra, and will be released on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
