Sonam Kapoor took to her instagram and shared Gigi Hadid’s post which states the American supermodel’s thoughts about the ongoing situation of Israel and Palestine. Gigi Hadid, who herself has Palestinian origins, states, “The terrorizing of innocent people is not in alignment with & does not do any good for the Free Palestine’ movement. The idea that it does has fueled a painful, decades-long cycle of back&forth retaliation (which no innocent civilian, Palestinian or Israeli, deserves to be a casualty of), and helps perpetuate the false idea that being Pro-Palestine = antisemitic.”
Going by the next story of Sonam Kapoor, it seems that she agrees with Gigi’s ideas and stands with the ones affected. She states- “Violence and death doesn’t lead to anything. It just destroys any humanity that exists in us. Mahatma Gandhi Non-violence is a weapon of the strong. Non-violence and truth are inseparable and presuppose one another. We may never be strong enough to be entirely nonviolent in thought, word and deed. But we must keep nonviolence as our goal and make strong progress towards it.”
