The trailer showcases the main character of the movie, Ajju Bhaiya (Varun Dhawan) as a history teacher even though he doesn’t know the subject well. He’s a person to whom his image matters the most, to the extent that he keeps lying about himself shamelessly. His character is of an overconfident and self-centred person.
Then comes the part where he’s willing to marry Nisha (Janhvi Kapoor) which would even upgrade his image in the society. He’s not that wealthy, but still plans a trip to Europe and takes Nisha with him. Nisha on the other hand is a more down to earth kind of person and after some time she realizes what Ajju is upto and what’s more important to him than his own partner. She goes on calling him ‘Selfish’ while Ajju calls her a ‘Defected piece’ and although it’s not clear from the trailer whether she leaves him, she does teach him a lesson.
According to the director, Nitesh Tiwari, relationships are governed by your take on life and your values and not the other people. And that’s what this movie’s main idea is. What you carry with yourself is what you provide. So, we can say that this movie talks about life, relationships and also about the conflect which a person has with his own self.
