Shoot for Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Bheed’ is Wrapped in Lucknow

Anubhav Sinha wrapped production on his upcoming film, Bheed, just in time for the holidays. Sinha’s social drama, led by a crackling ensemble that included Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, and others, was shot in Lucknow and other nearby cities throughout November and December. Sinha completed the picture in record time, staying loyal to his approach of extensive planning and short shots.

“Bheed is a complex and layered issue,” a set source tells us. Given the complexities of the subject, Anubhav Sinha and his crew storyboarded the entire film with an efficient scene break up to finish it before the New Year. Sinha prepared the actors for months before the film went into production, because of which the actors were well-versed in the screenplay. The team had a 40-minute timeframe from start to finish.”

Mulk, Article 15, and Thappad are among the filmmaker’s keen social dramas, and he has single-handedly created a sub-genre of conscientious cinema in Bollywood. Sinha’s forte has become narratives that spark important societal debates, and Bheed is an extension of the same value system. His films are of higher quality, with a strong storey that Sinha elevates with his magic touch.

Following the completion of Bheed, the filmmaker will prepare for the release of Anek, a film starring Ayushmann Khurrana. Sinha will finish the film’s edit before beginning work on the complex promotional material for the picture, which will be backed by Benaras Mediaworks and T-series.
