Pankaj Tripathi urges people to participate in the upcoming Bihar Panchayat elections

Son of the soil, Pankaj hails from Belsand, a village in the Gopalganj district in the state of Bihar. A farmer’s son, Pankaj has seen the village life and the problems that lie within it from extremely close quarters. His dreams led him to adapt to the urban life of Mumbai but he has not forgotten his roots. When he was contacted by the authorities of the State Election Commission, Bihar, to spread the message about the importance of Panchayat elections in a villager’s life, he jumped upon the idea. He understands that every level of governance needs to be strengthened from its roots for the country’s progress. Over 68% of the Indian population lives in rural India and it is of extreme importance that this section understands the importance of governance and participates wholeheartedly.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj said, ‘’ Panchayat election is one great example of the basic democracy and that everyone should participate in the upcoming elections for their own betterment. The beauty of the Panchayat election lies in the fact that the contestants are from the village itself so it makes it easier for the villagers to know their candidates thoroughly. The Election Commission has introduced modern techniques such as biometric and EVM to standardize the process of elections.

Pankaj Tripathi is one of the most popular figures in the country today. It is only natural that the State Election Commission, Bihar, rope in someone like him who knows the land and speaks its language.
