Ali Fazal is gearing up to take his Guddu Bhaiya avatar once again in the upcoming season three of Amazon Prime Video Mirzapur. He told on Thursday that he has started preparations for the much-awaited third season of the popular crime drama series ‘Mirzapur’. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment, the first edition of the Prime Video series came out in 2018.
The second season was released in the year 2020
The second season was released in 2020 which was one of the most watched programs in India. Ali Fazal, who plays ‘gun-toting gangster’ Guddu Pandit in the series, took to Instagram to announce the preparations for the third season.
36-year-old Ali Fazal wrote in the caption of the post, “And the time begins!! Prep, rehearsals, readings. Bring it on. laathi lakkad nahi, ab neeche se joote aur upar se bandookein fire hongi. Lagao haath kamaao kantaap!. “Mirzapur” will also star Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Duggal, Harshita Shekhar Gaur along with Amit Sial, Anjum Sharma, Sheeba Chadha, Manu Rishi Chaddha and Rajesh Tailang.
Guddu managed to survive all the troubles
Ali Fazal has been playing the character of Guddu Bhaiya ever since Mirzapur premiered on the streaming platform in 2018. Even after his co-stars like Vikrant Massey and Shriya Pilgaonkar were killed, Guddu managed to escape all odds.
Mirzapur is a crime-thriller set in the hinterland of India. Pankaj Tripathi plays a mafia, Ali plays a body-builder turned don, who has resolved to end the carpet business. Actor Divyendu Sharma plays Kalin’s son Munna and Rasika Dugal plays his wife Bina. Shweta Tripathi Sharma plays the role of Golu Gupta, who joins hands with Guddu against Kaleen.
Mirzapur 2 ends with Munna getting killed and Sharad Shukla saves Kaleen after Kaleen is shot. The upcoming season is expected to show Sharad the transfer of power from the carpet in Munna’s absence, even as Guddu and Golu’s revenge game continues. Mirzapur is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. It is produced by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna.
