The Amazon Original Movie’s soundtrack Gehraiyaan is one of the year’s most anticipated albums. The teaser’s title track is already trending on social media, and a glimpse of ‘Doobey’ in the video has left spectators wanting more!
The wait is over, as the first song from the film’s soundtrack, ‘Doobey,’ has been released!
The seductive music is composed by Kabeer Kathpalia a.k.a OAFF and Savera, written by Kausar Munir, and sung by Lothika Jha, and designed by Ankur Tewari.
“From the beginning, I understood that the music of Gehraiyaan had to be faithful to its storey and allow the public to get captivated into the world of these characters,” Ankur Tewari said of the first song. Kabeer, Savera, and Kausar, our lyricist, have all done an outstanding job of bringing in the youthful vibe while maintaining the intrigue! And Lothika’s vocals give the tune just the proper amount of freshness and energy.”
“It was a fantastic experience to collaborate on this film and its music,” says musician Kabeer Kathpalia aka OAFF. The outpouring of support we’ve received since the initial teaser has been truly remarkable and humbling. We wanted to reproduce the sensation of freefalling with Doobey, the high thrill of a new connection, of falling in love. Gehraiyaan is a very personal record for each of us, and we hope that the listener appreciates listening to it as much as we did creating it.”
Alongside Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the film also features Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa as leads along with Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapur in pivotal roles. Jointly produced by Viacom18 Studios and Dharma Productions in association with director Shakun Batra’s Jouska Films, the movie will have its World Premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
